US vs UK Book Covers #2

I did a post like this a while and I promised that I would do it again when I had more book covers to talk about. You can read my first post here. The idea behind this post is that I compare US and UK book covers and tell you which one I prefer. Throughout this post, the US covers are on the left and the UK covers are on the right.

Flawed by Cecelia Ahern– I really dislike the US cover and I am glad that the UK got a different cover. The paperback edition in the UK is slightly different and has pink writing instead. I really like the blues and the orange font on this cover. I really like how the F is used subtly and isn’t as bold as the one on the US cover. I feel that the US cover is too plain as it has very little colour on it. Winner- UK

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige- The US cover for this book is stunning. I love the blues that have been used on this cover and the snowflakes that are in the background. I think that the broken mirror works really well as it gives a fairytale vibe. The UK cover is too plain although I do really like the red font. Winner- US

The Amateurs by Sara Shepard- I actually quite like both covers for this book,  however, I prefer the US cover as I think it goes better with her other books. I own the entire Pretty Little Liars and Lying Game and I think that the US has the same theme as the PLL books so will look better next to my books. I do that the UK covers works really well for the book but it doesn’t look as appealing to me. Winner- US

The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan- I think that the UK cover is better as it is brighter and more eye-catching. I feel that with the US cover there is too much going on. I really like the combination of the yellows and oranges on the UK cover and I think that the blue eyes work really well. Winner- UK

Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty- I like the US cover because it is really simplistic. I like that it is on a white background and it is the font that draws you in. I do like the UK one but I don’t like the positioning of the font as you can’t see the picture very clearly.  I also think the word Madly should have been a different colour as it is a bit difficult to read. Winner- US

Heartless by Marissa Meyer- Heartless seems to have two UK covers. The US one is my favourite as I think the black and red works really well together. I don’t think that these covers are as good as the covers for The Lunar Chronicles. I really don’t like the second cover, I think it looks really unappealing and I’m not a huge fan of lips on covers. The other UK cover is my favourite out of the two. I like the colour combination on this one and I really like the font that has been used for the title. I think that the US one is the best out of the three and I have ordered a copy of that one of Book Depository. Winner- US

On a side note if you are in the UK and want to purchase US covers Book Depository often has them available. You do have to pay a bit more as they tend to be hardcovers instead of paperbacks but sometimes it is worth it to have a pretty cover.

Do you agree with my choices?

Kirsty xoxo

  1. I feel kind of weird to comment so long after your post was published, but I can’t resist… I would totally pick the exact opposite covers than you did, except for Heartless. I like simple ones sometimes and the white ones are rather appealing.
