This book was very popular a few months ago and everyone was talking about it. I picked it up without really knowing much about it other than everyone said it was really good. I was really surprised by how much I loved this book.

Plot Outline

This book is set in a strange circus which is being used for a competition by two magicians. Celia and Marco have been training for this competition for their whole lives but didn’t know who they would be competing against. They know so little about the competition that they did not know that the winner is the last one standing. The fall in love but they must still play the game until there is only one person left.

My Opinion

I loved this book so much. Although the plot was a little bit basic the writing was so beautiful that I couldn’t help but love it. Erin Morgenstern’s descriptions of the circus were so detailed that I could easily picture it in my mind. At first it took me awhile to get used to the writing style as it is written in the third person but once I got past that I really enjoying it. It was quite fast paced so I read it pretty quickly. There was so much going on this book and it has something for everyone. When I finished this book I was left wanting more; more of Morgenstern’s writing and more of this world.

I highly recommend this and I feel it really did live up to all the hype.
